We will keep a firm focus ongrain production. We will place equal emphasis onoutput and capacity, production and conservation, andoutput expansion and income growth①. On this basis,we will step up efforts in the latest round of initiatives to raise grain production capacity by 50 million metric tons③. To keep the output of grain and edible oilstable⑤, we will enhance efficiency through a combination of high-quality land, superior seeds, advanced machinery, and best practices, while also working to boost per-unit yields on large tracts⑥ of farmland, foster superior varieties, and improve crop quality. We will consolidate and enhance production capacity forsoybeans and other oilseed crops, andkeep the output of cotton, sugar crops, natural rubber, and other agricultural productsat stable levels⑦while improving their quality. We will diversify our food supply by advancing crop farming, forestry, animal husbandry, and fisheries in tandem.
